09 Jul Lowlands Locals Launches New Neighborhood Bier Collaborations
Heads up, friends! Lowlands Group is teaming up with 10 local craft breweries and extending our Lowlands Brewing Collaborative concept with the launch of a whole new line-up of hyper-local beers! With five partners in Milwaukee and five in Madison—all located within a 5-mile radius of one our European-inspired grand cafés—Lowlands Locals is a great way for neighbors to (literally) tap into some fantastically unique craft brews alongside the traditional European styles that inspired them.
Handshakes, Bicycles, and Biers
Through Lowlands Brewing Collaborative, our Grand Cafés are known for our collaborations with Belgian brewers like Brouwerij Van Steenberge and Brouwerij The Musketeers; but we’ve also had great success in collaborating with local Wisconsin brewers, too, like Central Waters and Hacienda Brewing. Like our imported beers, Lowlands Locals features unique beers that are brewed solely for Lowlands Group and can only be found either at our cafés or in select brewer’s own tap rooms. We’re excited to be embracing the local love even further this time, supporting and focusing on breweries that are right in the neighborhoods we serve.
The goal of Lowlands Locals is to highlight the diversity of beer styles that are being produced by local craft breweries, and to empower brewers to take a step outside of their normal comfort zones through the collaborations, which include unique styles such as Fermentorium’s Blushing Aura and Funk Factory Geuzeria’s Soured Wheatly.
These collaborations have (also literally) been in the hopper for months, and we’ve had a blast working with brewers to push the limits of what biers can and should taste like. New collaborations from local brewers will be featured throughout the year and we’ll be rotating our lineup with the seasons, so be sure to try them all while they’re still available!
The following brews will be served on draught and available to-go in growlers. We’re thrilled to be offering such a diverse range to kick off the program and whatever your tastes and activities may be, we’re confident you’ll find something perfect to pair with your summer.
Good City Brewing – Good City Sehr Gut Helles 4.8%
A laid back brew inspired by Milwaukee’s proud German Heritage and its historic East Side. A shared belief in the power of good bier, good food, and good company to transform neighborhoods emanates from this bright, crisp Helles Lager.
Third Space Brewing – Happy Place Citra 5.3%
This refreshing ale represents two companies who share a common goal: to give our guests a cozy space in which to enjoy great bier and great company. For this brew, our friends took their signature Midwest Pale Ale and added floral, juicy Citra hops.
Raised Grain Brewing Co. – Oranje Juicy IIPA 7.8%
Citra, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops add big, juicy bursts of fruit flavor to this irresistible, triple dry-hopped “biermosa but without the O.J.” from our friends in Waukesha. Finally, an IPA that’s not bitter about everything.
The Fermentorium – Blushing Aura English Mild Ale 4.2%
A sessionable, fruity homage to the “British Mild,” which is Brit-speak for “not aged.” This young, fresh buck of a bier is packed with intense flavor and brewed with rooibos, hibiscus, currants, rose hips, elderberries and cranberries!
Black Husky Brewing – Tripel Dog Elite 8.2%
This all-American take on a Belgian staple is spicy to some, and fruity to others—a subjective interpretation that showcases the “Craft”-y differences between Old World and New. This “husky” tripel is light-bodied and deceptively drinkable! (See Server for more information/dates regarding our barrel-aged version!)
We’re also proud to be working with Madison collaborators* Karben4 Brewing, Untitled Art, Funck Factory, Octopi Brewing and Next Door Brewing Co. at Café Hollander – Hilldale to be featured later this summer!
*Please note that some Breweries and biers could change throughout the collaboration, so keep your eyes open for any updates!
