Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month is a yearly reminder that as human beings, our capacity to hope, to fight, to work together, to persevere, to PERSIST, to resist, and to prevail, even and especially in times of uncertainty and strife, is our species’ greatest asset.

The month-long celebration is a chance to acknowledge women’s contributions to history, culture and society and we’re doing that in our favorite way: with bier!

Every year (*not including 2021), 15 women from all over the world gather at Huyghe Brewery in Belgium. As a way to celebrate women in the industry in preparation for International Women’s Day, the group helps brew Deliria. Last year (Pre-pandemic), our very own Chief of Operations/Girl Boss/Beverage Director Extraordinaire, Ileana Rivera, was selected to take part in the special tradition. We are celebrating this month in our Grand Cafés by tapping into the exact Deliria kegs that Ileana helped brew.

Also this month, we are toasting to women through a special partnership with Pink Boots Society. This nationwide nonprofit organization assists, inspires, and encourages women professionals in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry through education. For every Deliria sold at our Grand Cafés in March, we are donating $1 of proceeds to help fund scholarships for the Pink Boots Society. 

Stop by your neighborhood Café Hollander or Café Benelux in the Third Ward any day in March to try Deliria! This Blonde Belgian Strong Ale with spicy, mild hop notes bursts fruity tones of apple and chardonnay grape.

Buckatabon Supper Club Pop-Up at Hilldale

The Northwoods meet the Capitol during this exclusive pop-up of Buckatabon Tavern & Supper Club at Café Hollander Hilldale. For three nights only, guests are invited to make a limited reservation for this one-of-a-kind supper club experience in Madison.

Inspired by the multi-generational, family-run restaurants in Wisconsin’s Northwoods, Frank & Larry’s Buckatabon Tavern & Supper Club drips with “Up North” nostalgia. Their from-scratch menu and drink program feature familiar favorites, as well as modern twists on Wisconsin tradition. From Old Fashioneds and a relish tray, to our “World Famous” Prime Rib and a post-dinner ice cream drink, this prix-fixe pop-up menu features all of the classics.

Cozy up with your significant other, or celebrate with your “quaranteam” and enjoy fine food with a modern take on a quintessential Wisconsin institution–the Supper Club–at your neighborhood Café Hollander Hilldale.

For one weekend only, two private dining rooms at Café Hollander Hilldale will transform to create a cozy Supper Club vibe with nostalgia and charm.

You’ll have 90 minutes to enjoy your supper club dining experience. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes early to check-in, due to limited indoor capacity and waiting areas.

Streetcar on Lincoln

Lowlands Group is thrilled to announce the extension of our Outdoor Dining Experiences to Centraal Grand Café & Tappery. Drum roll please…Introducing Streetcar on Lincoln! Designed in collaboration with Containers Up, the Streetcar brings a unique outdoor dining experience to the heart of Bay View. Grab your masks, and tap into your wanderlust while swapping stories in the dining car, all without leaving the neighborhood.

Each outdoor dining experience includes a Snackuterie box and option to add "Family" meals. Pictured here is the Mid-Day Munchies Snackuterie, East Meets (Mid)West "Family" Meal

Each of the three Streetcar compartments features a private dining area for up to six guests that can be booked in 90-minute increments. Reservations include one Snackuterie Box, including options like Mid-Day Munchies, Lox Box and Sweet & Savory Brunch Box. Guests can also order from Centraal’s full menu of family-style food and beverage package options, including favorites like Spiced Pear Mule, Pomegranate Margarita, the East Meets (Mid)West and Fried Chicken & Biscuits Brunch.

When you step inside, each compartment is complete with colorful and eclectic bohemian decor and specially outfitted heating systems. Additionally, each door includes a screen for proper ventilation in between reservations.

The artist behind the colorful exterior of the Streetcar is one of our very own talented Lowlanders, Corinne Leach. She tapped into the spirit of Bay View’s neighborhood and combined it with a little Centraal flair for a bright and beautiful final product!

In addition to the launch of the Streetcar, Centraal’s live outdoor music series extends through March. Join them every Thursday-Saturday for “Eten en Drinken” in the heated courtyard. Check out the schedule online.

Our favorite personal touches include custom masks and hand sanitizer bottles, as well as thoughtful food and beverage service, with individual sampler plates and speciality cocktails.
